Diving into an Unique Steam Demo: Playing as a Piece of Feces in a Mission to Arrive at the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and gamers have encountered a variety of interesting indie games. However, one stands out for its offbeat concept. Called Unko Technica, this classic-feel jumping adventure includes a character that is truly a piece of poop trying to make its way to a toilet. For those curious, "Unko" means "poop."

Player controls is straightforward: just use a single jump button. Across one hundred fifty levels, encounter tough enemies and visit a market to buy customizations for your fecal avatar.

Plan your movements precisely, since one error requires beginning again. Leap off air pockets to hurl your character to new heights, navigate crumbling platforms, and interact with triggers to unlock hidden paths. Collect coins to purchase challenging levels in which gameplay intensifies.

Graphically, the demo boasts eye-catching level designs and catchy background music. Its minimalist art of shifting geometric shapes evokes memories of players of beloved games like Earthbound.

While it's tough to recall other games where you are a piece of feces, interactive entertainment have long included fecal matter. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, you can make explosives from protagonist excrement. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ feces as fertilizer. And of course, fecal references is present heavily in the South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.

Putting aside its goofy idea, Unko Technica has already received impressive awards, including being named best at a major publisher's GYAAR Studio in 2023. A playable preview is accessible at present on Steam, with the full game set to debut on Steam on November 19.
