Springfield's Favorite Family Makes Its Debut in Psyonix's Hit Game: Unfortunately Not the Car You're Dreaming Of
We already knew that the iconic animated series was collaborating with Epic Games' battle royale, but this isn't the sole destination where fans can immerse themselves in the world of Springfield. The long-running series is coming over to Rocket League, introducing an vehicle customization option that will also be compatible in Fortnite. However, if gamers will truly desire to equip it is another question, as fans have their hearts set on just one Simpsons car the community is itching to get behind the wheel of, and this new offering isn't that one.
What Fans Really Want
While many players would absolutely enjoy to compete while driving Homer's custom creation—the notoriously impractical car Homer designed personally in the classic episode "the one where he meets Herb"—that's not what players are receiving. We aren't even receiving the massive SUV, the heavy-duty truck featured in the tenth season. Instead, fans are getting the family's standard beat-up four-door, which has been in the family since 1989. Though this particular car has accumulated plenty of miles, it remains an recognizable symbol of the show. For those who pay attention to the game's vehicle dimensions, the trusty sedan uses the identical collision model as the Dominus.

Additional Themed Cosmetics
And it's not the only customization item from the series arriving in Rocket League. The event will also include a series of objectives to unlock additional rewards, all of which are inspired by the show. As detailed in a official announcement, the challenges will task participants to "achieve a certain number of centers and clears as there are the show's years on air, collect boost pickups as if your navigation is set to The Simpsons’ residence, and drive a distance sufficient for picking up the ideal pastries!"
Although the full lineup of earnable items hasn't been disclosed, here is what has been confirmed up to this point:
- Blinky topper
- Homer's hedge-themed banner
- Waste wheels
- 20,000 experience points for each challenge
Based on promotional images is a reliable guide, it seems players will also receive rims featuring a TV displaying the show's opening credits, Kang and Kodos topper, a sprinkled donut boost trail, and boost effects inspired by smoldering rubber and Krusty Burger.
Event Timing and Fortnite Connection
This event coincides with the extensive Simpsons takeover of Fortnite's island, which brings a brand-new playable area of Springfield, in addition to a month-long seasonal progression system. This special Rocket League and Simpsons celebration launches on November 1st and ends on Nov. 17.
